Be Bop Deluxe \u2013 Oxford New Theatre January 30th 1977 two days after my 18th birthday apparently.<\/span><\/div>\n

\n02. Last concert\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Johnny Dowd at the Running Horse Nottingham inbetween a good few gigs in 46 years!<\/span><\/div>\n

\n03. Next concert\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
Willie Mason at Bodega\u00a0January 2025<\/span><\/div>\n

\n04. Worst concert\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
The NIghtingales at Bodega last year. Only gig I ever actually walked out before the end. I liked them back in the day when I saw them at the Living\u00a0Room. Now\u00a0they are heavy\u00a0metal driven by the worst\u00a0screeching\u00a0drummer\u00a0in the world.<\/span><\/div>\n

05. Loudest concert\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
The Associates supported by Orange Juice (first London gigs 1980?) at Marquee as was left deaf for two days still have tinnitus thanks to The Associates\u00a0\"\ud83d\ude41\"\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

\n06. Best Concert\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0The Clash supported by Joe Ely Camden Electric Ballroom 1981? Second best Tom Verlaine solo at same venue.<\/span><\/div>\n

\n07. Seen the most\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
My friend Pete Astor and his bands\u2026.40 odd years so lost count how many times would be in the region of 30 +?<\/span><\/div>\n

\n08. Most surprising<\/span><\/div>\n
Flaming Lips supporting Mercury Rev at Brookes University Oxford when never heard of them..balloons\u2026lots of colour..<\/span><\/div>\n

\n09. Happy I got to see\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0Long list including above but not nightingales of course ..The Triffids, Fire Engines, Go-Betweens. Tav Falco Panther Burns at Jericho Tavern Oxford, Dave Alvin, Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Archie Shepp being mardy, Anne Peebles and Memphis Horns, Eddie Floyd and Booker T and the Mgs, Alex Chilton, the Feelies, Television, Warren Zevon, John Prine, missed Joy Division last gig because said no see them next time..1981 ULU.<\/span><\/div>\n

\n10. Best Festival<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0Glastonbury 1987 driven down by Douglas of Mary Chain was backstage watching Felt, Triffids, Weather Prophets\u2026.on Indie stage. main stage was Trouble Funk, Van Morrison Elvis Costello I remember Gregson Collister in acoustic tent.
\nOnly been to three festivals in life second best was Greenbelt Christian festival saw Peter Case and band in a big top followed by Sweet Honey in the Rock. Tom Russell and Bruce Cockburn solo.
\nThird and last was Reading Festival for an afternoon saw Pavement then Kevin Rowland in a dress being bottled.
\nOh tell a lie four festivals attended a very early Oxpens Festival circa 1978 in Oxford where local band Split Screens played.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

I also should have mentioned in best gig the Flamin\u2019 Groovies at Oxford CFE again around 1978\u2026..<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
